Shangri-La, The Marina, Cairns, is seeking an Overnight Laundry Attendant to join the overnight team of our Front Office Department.

 

As a Overnight Laundry Attendant your tasks and responsibilities will consist of handling all linen, uniform and guest laundry, including linen room and be familiar with the equipment and would be responsible for restocking all Housekeeping pantries and trolleys with linen and amenities.

Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. With 255 guest rooms, 18 function venues and extensive food and beverage facilities, the hotel is part of a leading international company with more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide. 

 

The Role

 

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Availability to work between the hours of 11pm to 7am, including working on weekends and public holidays. 
  • Valid working rights in Australia
  • Ability to handle, wash, dry  and press linen and uniforms
  • Ability to become well versed with linen and uniform classifications
  • Previous knowledge or ability to utilize laundry equipment, machinery and chemicals
  • Ability to co-ordinate with other sections.
  • Previous experience in a hotel/laundry environment is preferred, however all experience will be considered.

Apart from these duties the successful applicant would also be a part of  the emergency response team (ERT) and would need to attend to certain situations in emergency.
