Osborne Park, Australia Bis Full time
At Bis Industries, we are dedicated to delivering excellence in industrial logistics and services. As we continue to grow and evolve, we're searching for a proactive and experienced Workshop Planner to join our team in Tomago. This role is crucial in ensuring that our workshops operate seamlessly, delivering improved reliability and reducing downtime across our extensive fleet of plant and equipment.

Position Purpose
As the Workshop Planner, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of workshop maintenance activities across three key sites: Tomago, Cardiff, and Paget. Your focus will be on creating and managing detailed workshop schedules that optimise labour, equipment, and capacity to meet the demands of our maintenance plan. Your efforts will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our operations, ensuring that our equipment is maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
Utilize planning tools to build comprehensive workshop schedules that allocate labour, equipment, and workshop capacity, ensuring the effective execution of maintenance plans across three workshops. Clearly communicate workshop schedules to ensure all team members and leaders understand the plans, priorities, and any changes. Measure and monitor workshop performance against prepared schedules, presenting results to the team to drive continuous improvement. Effectively plan for variability in workshop facilities, labour capabilities, shift patterns, asset types, and job complexity, ensuring that schedules are realistic and achievable. Provide valuable input into longer-term capacity planning, supporting the strategic growth of our workshop capabilities. Manage the transport and logistics of moving assets to and from Bis sites, customer locations, and external sites.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a scheduling or planning role, with a strong understanding of maintenance operations. Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to solve complex problems and prioritise tasks based on financial and operational impacts. Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organisation. Systems Knowledge: Experience with maintenance management systems such as JDE is desirable. Computer Literacy: Strong proficiency in computer-based planning and scheduling tools.
