Your part in it

We are looking for an experienced Credit Officer with a strong attention to detail that ensures all regulatory and legal requirements are met. You will manage and maintain a collections portfolio of debtors and receipt, allocation, and reconciliation of incoming customer payments through automated and manual methods across Alinta’s retail customer base. The credit officer is also responsible for regular reporting and ensuring resolution of issues in a timely manner.

What you’ll put into it

Outbound calling to customers with unpaid accounts to obtain payment and negotiate payment plansCommunicating with customers to resolve payment issues or bring additional enquiries through to resolutionResolving and clearing all credit control activity queues and other exceptionsManaging the disconnections process and Liaise with debt collections agenciesProcessing all payments received through various payment channels as well as guaranteeing all monies are processed and banked within slaEnsuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements related to payments and collections.

What you’ll bring to it

Demonstrated credit experience in a high-volume payments, credit, accounts receivable or accounts payable functionProven operational experience in a customer service environment with well-developed written and verbal communication skillsExperience using billing platform as well as MS office (excel) and having knowledge in banking processesAbility to work to tight deadlines and schedules whilst also having the ability to work unsupervisedAdvantageous to have experience in retail energy in credit or billing role.

The ideal candidate will be a go getter and a productive individual who demonstrates strong analytical, numerical and financial reconciliation skills, while also having a strong attention to detail and the willingness to deal with complex matters. You will be a passionate team player who fosters team culture as well as assisting with cross functional work loads where needed.
