Farm Credit Services of America is seeking an SVP Credit & Resolutions to lead our Credit and Resolutions Team in managing high-risk loan portfolios with emphasis on the reduction of non-earning assets or those in litigation. Provide counseling to Credit Teams, Credit Analysts, Corporate & Commercial Teams, AgDirect and Retail Financial Officers on loan structure, terms and conditions, pricing and documentation for loans with significant credit weakness or high risk.

CREDIT RESOLUTION

  • Leads the Corporate Lending Credit and Resolutions team in managing high-risk loan portfolios including participant and syndicate lenders and large commercial agribusinesses. Team will work through the correction processes, including bankruptcy and litigation, restructuring, borrower counseling and/or collection, liquidation and asset recovery with emphasis on the reduction of high risk and/or non-earning assets in accordance with Association policies and procedures resulting in the greatest net return/best business decision.
  • Provides Strategic direction to the VP-Retail Credit and Resolutions to manage the high-risk Retail Loan Portfolio and the VP- Credit Service and Support to manage the high-risk AgDirect Loan Portfolio.
  • Assess evolving market conditions and the current portfolio to recommend adjustments and provide thought leadership working with the SVP – Corporate Credit and SVP – Retail Credit to make adjustments to manage risk.
  • Aligns resources required, internal and external, to manage high-risk loan portfolios. Manages internal and external legal counsel relationships and resources utilized in settlement of loans in bankruptcy or litigation to minimize liability as a participant, agent or direct lender in transactions.
  • Make recommendations on loans exceeding authority.
  • Ensure compliance with settlement laws and procedures, including Farm Credit System borrower rights and regulations.

REPORTING

  • Develop, maintain, monitor and report on assigned portfolio, including credit classification changes and accrual/stop accrual analysis
  • Analyze reports monitoring team performance, including designing advanced efficiency and collection cost reporting for large commercial loans, producer portfolios, and term loan portfolios. Monitor loan performance on assigned portfolio. Provide timely, efficient service to all internal and external customers. Proactively communicate status and issues internally. Reporting also includes development and maintenance of detailed forecasting and business plan development and monitoring for the high risk assets portfolios and team.
  • Establish reserves for loan losses in the assigned portfolio
  • Participate in the on-going design of Association processes and team structure to provide exceptional service and to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Serve in assigned capacities as a resource for credit training, an Association Loan Committee member, or other roles in support of the Chief Credit Officer and the Credit Teams directly serving Corporate and Commercial Markets, and Retail Offices.

LOAN PROCESSING & SERVICING

  • Provide oversight to teams serving internal and external customers by processing loan requests and loan servicing requests for assigned specialty product.

LEADERSHIP

  • Provide team leadership, shared vision, and positive communications to achieve the Associations' vision and strategy consistent with the Associations' core values and team principles. Build strong relationships and collaborative partnerships within the Associations to understand the business opportunities and challenges. Actively manages External Lender Relationships, particularly within the Farm Credit System, to ensure alignment, consistency and understanding on common business practices and individual participations.
  • Establish a positive, participative, and collaborative team environment that inspires creative, high-performing, continuous learning, and engaged team members.
  • Responsible for attracting, selecting, and on-boarding a diverse and qualified team and determining the appropriate team resource requirements to meet the Associations' strategic direction.
  • Develop team members through coaching, training and development, opportunities, and on-going performance feedback including timely follow-up on individual development plans; counsel team members on Talent Management activities.
  • Complete and/or recommend salary administration for team members in accordance with Association procedures.
  • Develop and monitor the business plan and annual operating budgets related to areas of responsibilities. Review and approve operational expenditures within delegated authority.

  • Ensure initiatives are implemented and adhered to Associations strategic goals.
  • Responsible for overall business planning and approval of business unit budgets.
  • Proactively collaborate and communicate with all stakeholders across multiple business units.
  • Serve as a Senior Leader representing the organization and senior leadership with internal and external audiences including providing cross-operational strategic input and direction.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, and/or Economics. Master's degree preferred.
Years of Experience

12+ years' experience in Commercial and/or agribusiness lending and credit administration with large and complex loans and/or loan participations.

Experience in completing analysis of various industries, identifying key trends, and assessing companies' positions and strategies within their industry.

Progressive middle to upper-level leadership experience preferred

Travel Time

Percentage of time required to travel - 30%
