About the Position: 

Serving Modern Australian cuisine, you will provide customers with the highest quality food and service levels to match. This is a casual opportunity, approximately 30 hours p.w.

Responsibilities:

  • With customer satisfaction our core focus, you will create menus items to suit a strong seasonal tourist market as well as meeting the expectations of local residents
  • Ensure the kitchen is stocked with produce required to provide a full catering service and that wastage is maintained at a minimum
  • Ensure proper and safe use of all materials, consumables and equipment
  • Maintain food safety policies
  • Keep within food and labour costs

About You:

The ideal applicant will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Experience in a similar role within the tourism industry
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Certificate in Food Safety
  • Ability to handle and use approved commercial chemicals
  • Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills to build rapport with customers and other staff/managers
  • Above all, a positive attitude with a flexible approach to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen
