About the role

This is a full time permanent opportunity located in Brisbane CBD.

The G&FE division is responsible for providing considered strategic advice to the Stanwell Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board on a regular basis and as such high levels of trust must be cultivated to maintain and enhance credibility and secure a mandate within the business to deliver initiatives.

The Risk & Governance Advisor is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the G&FE Division’s risk and assurance architecture. They will deliver strategic and operational risk management services to G&FE division wide projects.  The role provides specialist advice and support to the G&FE division and through the delivery of operational risk management practices, supports the Projects in strategic decision making and provides assurance that the Division’s risk profile is within appetite.

Key activities include:

  • Drive and embed project risk guidelines and standards leveraging the Enterprise Risk Management Framework to create a strong project risk management culture in G&FE.
  • Develop, document, implement and manage risk systems, including strategies, plans, assessment, risk registers and reporting.
  • Assists with the implementation and management of the project governance framework including assurance to G&FE teams.
  • Supports the development of project processes, guides, tools, templates and best practices to ensure projects operate seamlessly throughout the project governance framework lifecycle.

About you

  • Experience in engineering, risk management, governance, business or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the development, improvement and promotion of project or operational risk management, business resilience and governance framework practices in large and highly regulated organisations.
  • Experience operating in a Project Management Office environment with a large portfolio of Major Projects is highly desirable.
  • Independence, objectivity and a professional approach to dealing with confidential and complex issues.
