Coomera, Australia Con Group Pty Ltd TA Sweep Marine Services Full time

A well-established marine cleaning and refinishing company located on the Gold Coast, is currently seeking a Qualified Welder to join the team.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
  • Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
  • Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
  • Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
  • Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
  • Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
  • Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
  • Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
  • Assisting with and Supervising all aspects of training, set up, installation, operation, and pack down of Confined Space Entry and other High-Risk Activities.
  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Workplace Health & Safety Management.
  • Assist in the developments of Safe Work Method Statements and Standard Operating Procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will be required to hold the following qualifications;

  • Certificate III in Welding or Above
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A current Australian or International Drivers Licence
  • A current Confined Space Entry Certificate RIIWHS204D
