For more than 25 years, Great Northern Rural Services have put customers first, offering a wide range of products and services to ensure all your agricultural and rural needs are catered for. Whether you’re a farmer, market gardener, home gardener, fisherman, miner or contractor, we’ve got something for everyone.
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent Rural Merchandise Retail Assistant (Water) to join us to help drive instore sales of our agricultural merchandise products.
About the role:
Reporting to the General Manager of Great Northern Rural Services you will focus on developing strong customer relationships. Our customer base is broad and can include local farmers, primary producers and trade customers and the focus of your role is to provide a memorable experience for all customers either in store or over the telephone whilst:
- Assisting customers with pricing and product queries.
- Processing counter sales.
- Perform daily tasks including ordering, receipting, and dispatching of goods.
- Creating irrigation designs, you will be trained to do this
- Maintaining safety processes.
- Present a welcoming, friendly, and well-organised store environment.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have previous retail experience in a busy environment. You will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service to our customers. An agricultural/water background is advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience working within a sales environment. Demonstrated ability to work well within a team. Extremely reliable and punctual. Effective verbal communications skills. A proactive approach to work and practical organisation skills. Excellent attention to detail. Problem solving skills and empathy to resolve customer issues promptly. Ability to identify ways to improve internal sales processes. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.uld you be invited to interview for this position, we may request feedback from your current manager.
