Reporting to the National Manager Liability Claims, the successful candidate will support the management of a variety of complex public liability and professional indemnity claims across Australia and provide technical direction and coaching to the Liability Claims team.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Effectively interpret market information, legislative changes, and performance information to identify and to act on opportunities or areas requiring improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Technical Specialists and Team Managers to identify development opportunities for individuals and the team.
  • Develop, update, and maintain all policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to ensure ongoing quality decisions and outcomes, including review and maintenance of the internal Dispute Resolution process for Liability Claims.
  • Participation in business development opportunities, including policy wording health-checks, technical and claims commentary in business and stakeholder presentations

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or industry qualifications.
  • Experience in an Insurance, Legal, and/or Claims environment.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise tasks effectively while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy, quickly identifying errors or inconsistencies.
  • Ability to recognise, avert, manage, and escalate conflicts to enable effective and timely resolution in accordance with organisational processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact, and influence.
