About Mental Health Services at Albury Wodonga Health (AWH)

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is established in the twin cities of Albury and Wodonga, between Sydney and Melbourne. Our dedicated team of nearly 3,000 staff supports a population of 250,000 people throughout North-East Victoria and Southern NSW.  Our extensive network encompasses two primary hospital campuses, and an additional 22 sites, delivering a diverse range of emergency, community, mental health, allied health and sub-acute services.

AWH is an Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, providing mental health treatment, care and support, including delivering Alcohol and Other Drugs services. We deliver 10 specialised community-based programs, along with three acute care services and three facilities dedicated to recovery and rehabilitation. We also provide services supporting families coping with parental mental illness and facilitating connections to carer consultants.

Our Mental Health and Wellbeing teams comprise mental health clinicians with a background in nursing, occupational therapy, social work and psychology, all of whom have experience in helping people through a range of therapies. The diversity of our service provides a range of experiences for our team and will assist you in expanding and embedding your clinical practice skills.

About the Role

 The Single Session Coordinator will have a key role in coordination, facilitation and lead clinical practices in the Single Session Clinic. The overall management and liaising with families and relevant agencies both within AWH and externally to promote and provide Single Session Therapy.

The Single Session Clinic Coordinator will participate in clinical senior meetings relevant to the role and will be responsible for completing relevant documentation and follow up with families as required across both CYMHS sites in Wodonga and Wangaratta. 

The role also includes providing clinical leadership and provide support to less experienced team mebers in family systems work through joint work, consultation, mentoring and refelctive practice. 

Employment Type: This is a permanent part time position opportunity with Infant Child Youth Mental Health Service.

  • Mandatory : Registered Nurse, Psychologist or Occupational Therapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Social Worker eligible for membership with AASW.
  • Mandatory : Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to coordinate the activities of a small multidisciplinary team.
  • Mandatory : Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of programs, policies and staff development activities.
  • Mandatory : Demonstrated excellence in managing children and young people inclusive of their family networks with mental health problems, and the service sector from a developmental and systemic and recovery framework.
  • Mandatory : Demonstrated excellence in providing consultation to the service sector about child and young peoples’ mental issues and advocating for best outcomes for the child, young person and families.
  • Mandatory : Excellent organisational skills and ability to attend to detail especially in relation to documentation and data / record keeping and reporting
  • Desirable : Knowledge of Single Session Family Therapy and family systems work would be an advantage.
  • Mandatory : A current and valid car driver’s license is essential.
