Join our team as the Senior Accountant – Hospitals and take charge of managing the financial operations across Royal Rehab’s hospital facilities. In this key position, you’ll ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial reporting, while managing budgets and maintaining strict compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Your financial insights will directly influence strategic decisions and drive operational efficiency across our hospitals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, analyse, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the hospital division, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for hospital operations. Monitor and report on budget variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions
  • Analyse hospital costs and implement strategies to improve financial performance and cost efficiency. Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare financial regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance requirements. Prepare reports and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, including new service lines, capital investments, and operational improvements. Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis as needed.
  • Work closely with hospital administrators, department heads, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between financial goals and operational objectives. Provide financial training and support to non-financial staff as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for improving financial systems and processes. Lead or participate in projects to implement new accounting software or other tools that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

About you..

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

Essential Criteria: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CA certification is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience within the healthcare sector, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Experience with accounting standards and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems; experience with patient administration systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including hospital staff, management and shared services teams.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
