What we are looking for:

A unique opportunity exists for a strategic land use planner to join our dynamic team.  You will be part of a small team responsible for delivering the next planning scheme for the Fraser Coast region.  Your previous experience working in a development assessment and/ or a strategic planning role will help us succeed.  Well developed communication skills are a must, as is your practical knowledge of the Queensland land use planning framework.  

Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in town planning, however if your qualifications and experience are a little different to what we are looking for, we would still like to hear from you.

The role will involve:

• Coordinating strategic land use planning projects
• Providing planning advice to matters
• Preparing and delivering the town planning policy, planning documents, and policy
• Reviewing and advising on development applications
• Coordinating Councillor and stakeholder workshops
• Maintaining strong, relevant networks

What you should have to apply:

You’ll have:

• Experience in the delivery of strategic land use planning projects.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to relate well to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven problem solving skills.
• Project management experience
• knowledge of the Queensland Planning framework and state and federal legislation applicable to the position.
• Drivers Licence.
