We are seeking four experienced and driven Clinical Nurse Consultants to join our Clinical Education and Practice Development team. Each Consultant will be responsible for leading the implementation of evidence-based practice principles within a specialised scope of practice:

  • Dementia Care
  • Palliative Care
  • Chronic and Complex Care
  • Allied Health Lead

This key role provides clinical leadership, expert nursing care, advice, and education to clinical and care teams across residential care and home care settings. Utilising an advanced nursing practice model that encompasses consultancy, engagement, and empowerment, this role will support the capacity of clinical and care teams to manage quality of life and care outcomes for our community.

About you:

We are seeking an applicant who can provide effective clinical leadership and expert consultancy within their scope of practice (Dementia Care, Palliative Care & Chronic and Complex Care, Allied Health Lead) to nursing and care staff, other service providers, consumers, and carers. This role ensures person-centered care principles and best practice standards are met.

You will:

  • Exhibit the ability to think critically, problem-solve, and make sound, evidence-based clinical decisions autonomously.
  • Provide leadership in the ongoing review and development of clinical practice at the local or regional level as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, including education and resources to support them.
  • Collaborate with care and clinical governance teams to identify education needs and participate in the development and delivery of targeted education programs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (with no restrictions).
  • Master's degree in related speciality (or working towards).
  • Minimum 5 clinical experience in relevant nursing specialty.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience at the advanced practice level.
  • Willingness to travel to RSL LifeCare Residential Care and Home Care sites when required.

Join RSL LifeCare because:

  • Competitive remuneration package including potential to pay above award rate for the right candidate. Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging ($15,900 tax-free), and Meal & Beverage Benefits ($2,650 tax-free).
  • Annual leave loading of 17.5%
  • Flexibility within a hybrid working environment.
  • Team-building activities, wellbeing days, and volunteering opportunities.
  • Personal and professional development support.
  • Collaborative and passionate team environment.

RSL LifeCare is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace. We acknowledge the importance of diversity, and actively strive to create an environment where all team members feel safe, respected, valued, and have equal opportunities for growth and success, regardless of their gender, age, ethnicity, cultural or linguistic background, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability.

We welcome and encourage applications from our diverse community, including serving members of the Australian Defence Force, veterans and families, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our commitment to inclusion reflects our values and is key to achieving our purpose to enrich the lives of veterans and seniors.

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid RSL LifeCare Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
