Position Summary:
As a Senior Veterinary Nurse at Direct Vet Services, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our clinic. You will lead and mentor a team of veterinary nurses, assist in complex medical and surgical procedures, and ensure the highest standards of patient care. Your expertise and leadership will be crucial in maintaining our clinic's reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of veterinary nurses, providing guidance, training, and support. Assist veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures, including anaesthesia, monitoring, and recovery. Manage and administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations as prescribed. Provide compassionate care to patients, including handling and restraint, as well as client education on health and wellness. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with clinic protocols and regulatory standards. Oversee the inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well-stocked and in good condition. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Veterinary Nurse, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role. Proficiency in a wide range of veterinary nursing skills and procedures. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate and support clients. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
