About the role

An exciting opportunity exists within our Technology Operations group at SA Water for an Application Manager to manage a portfolio of Applications covering Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Laboratory and Technology services. Your role is pivotal in maximising business outcomes and ensuring excellent user experiences across our digital platforms.

You will be one of three Application Managers, working within an Operations group with a high achieving, supportive culture. You will lead an internal team of Application Specialists and Service Providers.

This role is pivotal in ensuring high availability, resilience, and security of Applications both on-premise and in the cloud, ultimately aimed at maximising business outcomes and delivering exceptional user experience.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise and deliver outcomes aligned with strategic roadmaps
  • Implement innovative solutions and automation to enhance efficiency and ensure costs are optimised
  • Sponsor and oversee application refresh projects, ensuring smooth transitions from project phases to operational excellence
  • Drive continuous improvements across resource management, stakeholder engagement, workflow optimization, and service provider contracts

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Proven experience in leading diverse teams and building great culture
  • Demonstrated experience of managing critical Applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, stakeholder management, and engagement skills.
  • Proficient in service provider, contract, and budget management.
  • Success in driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience with Finance ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Financials, SAP) (Desirable)
  • Experience with HR, Supply Chain, IT service management systems (ServiceNow), or Microsoft (SharePoint, M365) (Desirable)
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, management, or related fields or equivalent work experience
