Educational Assistant (Pre-Primary) - Full-time, Temporary

St John's Primary School, Scarborough is a single stream co-educational school, catering for students from Pre Kindergarten to Year 6. Our committed and enthusiastic staff work closely together to provide a collaborative and supportive learning and teaching environment. Our staff are highly committed to whole school programs which include, PLD, Talk for Writing and Brightpath.

The successful applicants will enjoy working in a team environment, have a passion for education and possess the initiative required to work successfully in a primary school setting.

This is a temporary full-time position commencing 15 July 2024 and concluding 31 December 2024.

Selection Criteria

St John's Primary School is seeking applicants who are able to demonstrate the following:

• Be prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties.
• A high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Enthusiasm and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to work under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Ability to demonstrate creativity and initiative.
• Ability to develop a positive relationship with young children.
• An understanding of the developmental needs of young children.
• Competent in the use of ICT.
• Well developed interpersonal and organisational skills.

Qualifications Required

• A Certificate III or IV Teacher Assistant Qualification.
• Accreditation to work in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain).
