About the Role:

The Head of Faculty – Technology and Innovation will provide leadership of learning across the Secondary College, ensuring technology and innovation , including subjects such as design, digital solutions, and engineering, are at the heart of our students’ educational journey.

Working closely with the Dean of Studies and the Dean of Pedagogy, you will lead a team of dedicated educators, developing curriculum and promoting best teaching practices for all subjects within the technologies faculty.

In this role, you will actively promote the innovative use of technology within the curriculum and ensure regular communication with stakeholders, fostering strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.

You will also be responsible for developing and managing the faculty's budget and maintaining a teaching load within the secondary school.

This is an exciting opportunity to drive technology and innovation as key pillars of our academic program.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will be an accomplished and highly motivated educator with a strong background in leadership and a passion for technology and innovation, specifically as it relates to the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabuses.

They will have a demonstrated track record of achieving excellence in education, leading high-performing teams, and inspiring both staff and students.

With deep knowledge of current educational trends, they will be adept at translating the College’s Strategic Vision into practice, promoting innovation in teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders, including staff, students, and parents.

The ability to lead through collaboration, drive student achievement, and implement innovative curriculum practices will greatly contribute to candidates applications for this role.

Candidates will be adept at creating environments where creativity and technological advancement can flourish.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications include:

  • A postgraduate degree in education (preferred).
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
  • Senior First Aid certificate.
  • Proven experience as an educator and leader of learning, with 5–10+ years in the education sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum leadership, innovative practices, and current trends in technology and education.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
