The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug services.  We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services).
 

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Senior Project Worker, at our Highgate location. Reporting to the Senior Project Worker, this is a fixed-term, part-time position offering 30.4 hours per week, until 28th February, 2025.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 6.

You will successfully

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of project planning, development and implementation for a range of projects, including developing project plans, coordinating resources, managing budgets, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting project-related activities, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope in line with established agency project management methodology.

  • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to engage stakeholders and ensure project deliverables are met.

  • Monitor and evaluate all aspects of project implementation, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues, assess project progress and effectiveness, and achieve project outcomes.

  • Provide advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other project priorities.

  • Reports, research and reviews are delivered for stream to inform service improvements.

  • Gathers and prepares relevant data about service delivery and community needs to inform needs analysis.

You will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)

Essential

  • Project management including project planning, development, implementation and evaluation, with the ability to achieve project outcomes

  • Experience in the coordination of conflicting and complex projects, meeting project milestones and event management

  • Research, analysis and problem solving including the use of data analysis tools 

  • Provision of advice and information including preparation of high-level reports, plans, budgets, and correspondence

  • Building and enhancing stakeholder relationships

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to write reports and project plans at a high standard, and the ability to communicate complex ideas into advice and guidance.

Desirable

  • Qualification in project management (desirable) or equivalent experience. 

  • Experience and/or knowledge of AOD, mental health and/or other community/health services.
