About the role and team
We have a great opportunity for someone to join our Statutory Insurance Victoria team as a Legal Assistant.
The Statutory Insurance Victoria team is based in Melbourne and is comprised of approximately 65 team members. We are a high performing team that acts for a large number of employers in the management of workers' compensation claims and litigation. We also have a thriving recoveries practice.
The successful candidate will be someone who is energetic, eager to learn and committed to providing a high-level service to our lawyers and clients. You will be involved in:
- conducting conflict checks and opening files;
- reviewing and cross checking data and allocations;
- managing appointment bookings with doctors;
- drafting correspondence;
- compiling and reviewing data and reports;
- ensuring compliance with client requirements;
- distributing electronic mail;
- processing invoices; and
- other duties as required.
About you
You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- confident using multiple computer programs;
- strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy;
- highly organised with excellent communication skills; and
- ability to prioritise in a fast paced environment and perform to deadlines.
This is a great entry level role. Past experience working as a Legal Assistant in a law firm is not essential. This is an opportunity that would be suited to law students and those interested in working in a high performing team within a legal environment. Extensive and ongoing training and support will be provided, both at a team level and firm level.
