Position Details

As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented Inventory Control Manager to join the team here in Melbourne.

Supporting our Hume Road, Laverton North facility, the largest temperature-controlled storage and distribution site in the Southern Hemisphere, you will lead a small team in delivering the highest standards of inventory control outcomes, creating efficiencies and recommending improvements.

Reporting to an incredibly collaborative and experienced General Manager, you will have the opportunity to have a positive impact across different teams as well as our customer portfolio, in alignment with our strategic aspirations.

Below is a list of responsibilities and the experience we are ideally looking for, but most importantly we welcome applications from passionate and engaged Inventory Control professionals who enjoy business partnering and focusing on continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Managing inventory control responsibilities for the site, including but not limited to inventory checks, cycle counting and pick bin reconciliation against customer requirements.

Communicating with key customer contacts to ensure continuous reporting of inventory issues, reporting and adjustments.

Identifying inventory discrepancies, conducting investigations and preparing reports. Where applicable, identifying root causes of discrepancies and amending procedures, systems and processes where required.

Driving efficiency gains in the business through the identification of inventory issues: recommending and implementing changes.

Managing annual, cyclical and ad-hoc stock taking processes including the provision of timely reports.

Standardisation of processes and systems across the site to ensure day to day inventory control operations are managed consistently, efficiently and effectively.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

Experience in a similar role (industry experience is preferable).

Qualifications in Warehousing and Distribution (or relevant technical experience).

Experience leading a small team.

Experience in the management and operation of inventory systems, procedures and operational practices.

Experience in planning and managing stock takes.

Experience with liaising with customers regarding inventory processes.

Strong understanding and experience in the implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality and legality issues.
