You will be responsible for creating and delivering compelling content that engages the retail teams and strengthens the company's culture. You will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure all internal communication is clear, consistent, concise and aligned with the clients goals and values.

Reporting to the Head of Learning & Development, you will represent the L&D and Retail Operations Team in a professional, collaborative and proactive manner, working closely with a multitude of internal departments to ensure clear, consistent, and effective communication across all touchpoints, servicing a diverse, geographically dispersed global audience with varied translation and localisation needs.

Role requirements, Skills & Attributes:

Communications Strategy Execution:

  • Execute communications strategy end-to-end on behalf of retail and learning and development through defined communications channels, including but not limited to, global weekly newsletters (Memos), market specific communications (notices), service desk enquiries (Zendesk tickets), email enquiries and mailouts (L&D shared mailbox), and any Microsoft Teams groups specifically created to maintain communications related projects or department actions (i.e. Shopify document library).
  • Maintain 'Memo Content Planner' to be used in effectively planning and executing annual global retail communications strategy aligning to Retail Calendar and key business objectives.
  • Create and maintain 'CANVA subject matter archive' clearly recording all assets on 'Master Index' by subject matter, audience (Account Groups/Store Team/Field Leaders), language, and version control to create efficiency in sourcing articles and education pieces for future memos or learning programs.
  • Review communications requests submitted by stakeholders and clarify prior to proceeding in line with department brief requirements, and obtain sign-off from Global Director of Retail Stores prior to publishing.
  • Oversee and execute any communications projects as per Learning & Development strategy or key business objectives, on time and in full.
  • Monitor feedback and engagement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications efforts and make recommendations for improvement
  • Support leadership in crafting key messages and communications for internal announcements and initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in internal communications to continuously improve strategies and tactics.
  • Maintain the company's internal communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company's goals and values

Translation/localisation Oversight:

  • Collaborate with learning and development project leads, Business Partners and internal stakeholders to identify translation requirements, language variants, prioritise translation requests, and assign associated timelines to each translation task.
  • Ensure all documents and materials are reviewed for translation compatibility prior to dispatch, including language and sentence structure (instructional design), in editable format, correct fonts/typeface, correct Lovisa templates, and pictures reviewed.
  • Translate training materials, documents, and communications from/to multiple languages as required via SmartCad translations service tool.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and consistency in translations preserving the tone and context or the original meaning of the documentation, as far as possible.
  • Proofread/review, edit and reformat translated materials to ensure quality and adherence to organisational standards.
  • Manage translations projects, including prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.

Represent Learning & Development department in a professional, proactive and productive manner in all verbal dealings, meetings and written correspondence with internal and external stakeholders, without exception.

  • Action all directives on time and in full, as instructed by Head of Learning & Development and Global Head of Retail Stores.
  • Liaise with internal departments and SmartCad (external translations provider/vendor) to coordinate translation projects and resolve issues.
  • Communicate effectively with Team members to ensure alignment on objectives, timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, project leads and L&D Business Partners to gather all facets of content for training materials and translations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity at all times.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with communication tools and platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from key stakeholders and team
  • Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Accountability and the ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and exercise discretion
  • Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organisation
  • Experience in developing working relationships with a wide and varied stakeholders
  • Qualification in communications is an advantage
  • Experience in internal retail communications (beneficial)
