About the Role

The role of the Primary School Receptionist is to support a learning environment for students. This role also involves welcoming School community members and guests; the support and hospitality of the Primary School Reception; delivering a friendly, efficient, confidential and professional service always, both in person and on the telephone.

The role of the Learning Assistant is to work alongside classroom teachers as part of a cooperative team and provide vibrant, dynamic and innovative educational programme for our students. The role also involves supervision duties during break time or as needed across the day and other duties as required.

About You

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:

  • Certificate III or higher in Early Childhood Education and Care (current or actively studying toward achieving these qualifications)
  • An understanding of the ACEQA National Regulations and Framework
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within the education sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience establishing good working relationships with students, parents, staff and the school community
  • Administration and organisational skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • An understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of matters involved in the role
  • Experience working in a small and busy team environment with the ability to work well under pressure
  • The ability to work independently, intuitively and flexibly

All team members at CGS are required to have:

  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • A current National Police Check; and
  • Full working rights within Australia.
