The Opportunity

HeliMods are seeking talented CNC machine operators with a passion for technology, automation, and digital production to join our team

You’ll be interfacing with advanced engineering and manufacturing technologies as HeliMods continues its evolution of advanced manufacturing.

In your role you will

  • Operate 3 and 5 axis CNC machines (including HAAS VMC/UMC/Mill-Turn machines).
  • Drive best-practice within design for machined component manufacture and quality.
  • Complete part conformity and verification.
  • Own continuous improvement initiatives within machining to decrease run times, increase machine utilisation, and improve part quality.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Relevant trade or industry qualifications.
  • 4+ years’ experience in the aerospace, automotive or other high precision industry desirable.
  • 5+ years’ experience with HAAS or equivalent high speed machining centres, including tooling and work holding.
  • Experience in proving CAM, 1st of type production, and integrating with an engineering team.

  • Be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.

Interviewing

  • Initial pre-screening interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
  • Remote interviews can also be arranged for any candidates progressing to the final stages of interview who cannot attend in person (e.g. interstate or international candidates).

  • Does not have an existing criminal conviction.
  • HeliMods provides products and services to Defence and as such, to meet Defence security requirements, candidates must be an Australian Citizen. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
  • Due to the nature and privilege of information, and in accordance with Australian Standards for Workforce Screening (ISO 4811-2022), it is an inherent requirement that a security clearance and police check are obtained prior to employment.
