Your new role

Data Services is a newly established department in Fund Services that has the responsibility to establish a leading Data Governance, Management & Operations capability across all data domains in the Fund. 

Reporting to the Principal, Member Data Management, this role will support the delivery of strategic data capability as a Data Product Owner. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, deployment, and adoption, and performance of Member data products within Australian Super.

Some key responsibilities but not limited to;

  • Work closely with our stakeholders to understand business objectives, translate them to data requirements, and develop and maintain a vision and plan for the data products to align with business outcomes.  
  • Set priorities and align the team deliverables to business needs and ensure value is realised.
  • Manage data products through the lifecycle – what to develop, when to enhance and when to retire. 
  • Adhere to data management best practices.
  • Drive adoption of the data products. Ensure non-experts can successfully interpret and use the data assets and are able to derive actions from the insights. 
  • Collaborate and inform with key stakeholders such as other teams within Data Services, Technology, and address any issues that may arise during the development process. 
  • Operate and make decisions according to the Fund’s Policies, Standards and Procedures. 
  • Ensure appropriate and relevant governance structures, policies and processes are followed.

What you’ll need  

  • Strong experience as a Senior Data Analyst or Manager in Financial services (superannuation, banking, insurance etc.) and experience working with customer data.
  • Skills in PowerBI, SQL, and Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of databases, data warehouses, data structures and data analysis techniques.
  • Strategic thinking ability and strong collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs to data products.
  • Ability to keep deliverables on track and manage stakeholder expectations. 
  • Managing multiple priorities
  • Experience/knowledge of data governance frameworks will be valued 
  • Understanding of agile ways of working
