Bowen Hills, Australia Entain Full time

Hello and Kia Ora

Start your game…
At Entain, as everything we do revolves around our customers. To provide them with an exceptional experience, our platforms must adhere to the highest quality standards. We’re seeking a QA Engineer who is excited about a Shift-Left approach in the development process. This is your chance to enhance our quality assurance practices from the very start of development.

In this position, you'll be instrumental in ensuring that our products are built with quality and the customer in mind from the beginning. You'll collaborate closely with developers, Product Managers, UI/UX designers, and other stakeholders to align expectations and tackle issues early in the development lifecycle. By embracing the Shift-Left philosophy, you’ll help preempt problems and ensure our products maintain the high standards of one of the largest operators in the industry.

We value innovation and encourage you to take initiative, think outside the box, and continually seek ways to improve our processes.

Ready to level up your game? Join us and help deliver top-quality products that keep our users coming back for more.

Where and how you can work...

This role can be in Brisbane, Australia (HQ), Sydney or Melbourne. At Entain AUS & NZ, we value a flexible work environment and support a hybrid working model, allowing employees to spend two days a week at the office, ensuring work-life balance and individual preferences.

Your day-to-day...

  • Engage early in the development process to review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, providing timely and meaningful feedback to catch issues before they arise.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and document issues identified during user acceptance testing or production through actionable JIRA tickets.
  • Perform thorough regression testing for new releases and conduct exploratory testing to identify edge cases and alternative scenarios.
  • Develop detailed, efficient, and maintainable automation tests in collaboration with subject matter experts and developers. Coach development teams on best practices in automated/manual testing and overall quality.
  • Liaise with development teams and stakeholders to address and action issues resulting from recent deployments; drive proactive conversations regarding issues, requirements, suggestions, and concerns.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance our QA processes and tools, driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

What you'll bring...

  • A background in frontend engineering with experience in testing complex, large-scale software using best practice test methodologies.
  • Understanding of QA processes such as BDD, manual testing, test plan writing, and the Testing Pyramid.
  • A proactive mindset, always looking for ways to enhance the QA process and improve overall product quality.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and work tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with JavaScript-based frontend environments (web or mobile) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub).
  • Experience developing automation tests in JavaScript frameworks like Cypress or Playwright.

Entain Lifestyle...

  • Embrace your need for a work-life balance through our 9-day fortnight.
  • Celebrate the joy of starting a family with 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Indulge in a range of wellness benefits through our wellness calendar, including, heavily subsidized gym memberships and other paid-for services.
  • Enjoy the convenience of a free onsite barista and a fully stocked fridge and pantry, ensuring breakfast and lunch are taken care of.
  • A wealth of learning and development opportunities, empowering you to broaden your expertise and professional growth.
  • Company-wide events designed to honour and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our exceptional team.
  • We LOVE Entertainment, and Racing and Sports are at the heart of everything we do. So, it only makes sense that we provide access to staff giveaways to sporting and racing events.
