About the role

We are delighted to announce that an opportunity exists for a Mechanical Technician at our Helidon Manufacturing Site.

Reporting to the Superintendent - Maintenance, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance within the operational area, and to support the processes and equipment used for the manufacture of initiating systems at the plant.

As a 24/7 manufacturing plant, this role entails a rotating 12-hour rotating shift roster.

What you will be doing

• Maintain a safe operating environment for all personnel and ensure integrity of plant and equipment;
• Utilise engineering quality system to comply with the requirements of ISO9001;
• Maintenance of manufacturing and support equipment to site and manufacturer standards, that is completed competently and to the schedule.
• Troubleshooting of operational equipment and related process adjustments.
• Identify equipment risk and performance opportunities to continually improve safety, efficiency, effectiveness and reliability;
• Provide information for handover between shifts and to other support teams.

What you will bring

• Trade/Qualification in a Mechanical field is required;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing industry;
• Demonstrated ability to complete paperwork and communicate clearly with the range of personnel present in a manufacturing environment;
• Computer literacy and a knowledge of maintenance systems;
• Capability of attaining CPR and Low Voltage rescue certification, and Ammonium Nitrate National Police Certificate
