Religious Education Coordinator & Faith Development Leader (REC)  

POL 3 & 0.33 FTE time release -  full time, ongoing

Simonds Catholic College is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Religious Education Coordinator & Faith Development Leader (REC) to join our diverse and vibrant community who will have responsibility for fostering and maintaining the Catholic identity and ethos of the school.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. With a passion for Religious Education and the capacity to lead a thriving RE Department, the successful candidate will be an experienced teacher of Religious Education who will drive excellence in RE teaching. 

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Religious Education and/or Theology.
  • Proven experience in teaching Religious Education and a deep understanding of RE pedagogy.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive school culture.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about current educational and theological trends.
  • be constantly striving for excellence in their teaching and have high expectations of their students 
  • motivate students of all abilities to learn through an innovative approach to teaching so that they reach their potential
  • have high level skills in the use of technology in their teaching and in the monitoring of student learning and growth 
  • connect positively with students and show genuine care for their learning and wellbeing.

The Religious Education Coordinator and Faith Development Leader (REC) reports to the Principal and Deputy Principal and is a member of the Leadership Team, attending meetings as required by the Principal.

This is a full time, ongoing position at the school, with a two year tenure on the role.
