About the role and team

We have an opportunity for a National Early Careers Co-ordinator to join our People & Culture team based in our Sydney office.

This role will provide support in co-ordinating all Early Career programs Hall & Wilcox offers. This includes the Melbourne Seasonal Clerkship program, the Perth Seasonal Clerkship program, the First Nations Pathway program and the National Graduate program. You will assist with the co-ordination and implementation of these programs.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • preparation of advertisements for all Clerkship, Graduate and First Nations recruitment;
  • assisting with the review and screening of applications for Clerkship, Graduate and First Nations roles;
  • organising and coordinating interviews for all Clerkship, Graduate and First Nations Recruitment;
  • conducting Clerkship and Graduate interviews;
  • drafting employment agreements for all Clerks, Graduates and First Nations;
  • assisting the Senior National Early Careers Advisor with the Early Careers programs including; rotations, roles and responsibilities (legal assistant, buddy, mentor and partner) and rotation review processes;
  • assisting with the national clerkship, graduate and First Nations induction programs;
  • assisting with the coordination of national Practical Legal Training as required;
  • assisting with the national admission process for graduates as required; 
  • attending Graduate and Clerkship events to promote Hall & Wilcox. Assist with overflow of generalist tasks as required; and
  • other ad hoc administrative tasks when required.

Skills and experience

We would like to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • tertiary qualification in Human Resources;
  • 12 months experience in a similar role (ideally in professional services) preferred but not essential;
  • strong attention to detail;
  • client service focus (internal clients);
  • excellent organisation skills;
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • team player;
  • ability to maintain confidentiality; and
  • good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs mainly. Word, Outlook and Excel.
