WSP Property and Buildings Structures group have a role for an Associate Director – Structures to join our growing team in Melbourne.

Our Property and Buildings team is a world-leading management and technical consultancy operating across all sectors. Our Building Structures group are a specialist team renowned for their innovation in structural engineering and cutting-edge BIM project execution across high-rise and complex building structures and infrastructure projects, with offices in every major city across Australia. What you’ll do

As an Associate Director you will:

  • Operate in a market-facing and design delivery focused role;
  • Handle ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients;
  • Proactively determine, manage, monitor and control scope of works;
  • Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects;
  • Ensure timely and quality of delivery for project and structural engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards – and in alignment with schedules and budgets;
  • Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally;
  • Provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team;
  • Champion own continual professional development and mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers;
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting.

About you

The successful candidate we are looking for will have:

  • Proven experience in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of high profile projects as the project leader;
  • Expert knowledge in the application of modelling software and/or analytics techniques and workflows on projects
  • A proven track record in leading large sized multidiscipline projects;
  • Typically 12 to 15+ years’ industry experience;
  • Well-developed client facing, business development and account/relationship management skills;
  • The ability to lead, train and mentor junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects.
