Randstad is currently a preferred partner with a reputable Government organisation to recruit for the below role:

Role: Senior Payroll Officer
Location: Doncaster
Contract: 12 weeks - potential to be ongoing permanent
Hourly Rate: $58 per hour + super
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including calculations, deductions, tax filings, and payment distribution.
  • Support payroll requirements and ensure all adjustments, including changes to employee payroll data, are processed within agreed timelines.
  • Assist in preparing new pay rates and handling back payments due to variations, performance reviews, employee re-classifications, and relevant tax issues, including PAYG taxation rates.
  • Liaise with the WorkCover Officer to calculate WorkCover pay entitlements.
  • Perform monthly preparation, processing, reconciliation, and disbursement of employee payroll deductions.
  • Contribute to the timely provision of monthly superannuation payments.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll matters.

Requirements

  • Experience in CHRIS21 software
  • 3-5 years payroll processing experience
  • Experience in local council or sector with multiple awards
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and driving operational efficiencies.
