About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for Design Assurance Engineer to join our Hunter Class Program based at Adelaide, reporting to the Design Assurance Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for working with other members of the Design Assurance Team, under direction and in support of the Design Assurance Manager. They will also work with the other stakeholders across the program to develop, monitor and improve processes and mechanisms to manage design maturity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the development of existing Design Assurance capability in Australia through learning from experienced team members
- Support the Design Assurance Manager in the conduct of the various assurance activities that assess the design maturity of the product
- Develop the design assurance mechanisms that provide data to the Chief Engineer and Design Authorities
- Support to the wider engineering team and other functions to enable the successful conduct of key assurance processes
- Maintain a level of SQEP for the role through personal and professional development, including stakeholder relationships across engineering and the wider program
- Demonstrably working towards professional certification with a relevant professional body
About YOU
- Demonstrated experience within complex stakeholder environments
- Awareness and experience of design assurance processes used on the HCF program
- Experience with JIRA & Codebeamer is desirable
- Ability to coordinate work hours with UK stakeholders twice a week
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain to obtain NV-1 Clearance
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
