About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Assurance Specialist to join our team at ASC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our Australian Shipbuilder achieves recognition as an appropriately Authorized Engineering Organization.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Osborne, SA. You will work closely with our Head of Engineering to provide input to strategic direction and grow the Engineering Assurance capability as the program grows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to achieve accreditation as a suitably Authorized Engineering Organization and working to scale the capability at progressive stages of a major defence program.
  • Define the applicable strategy and grow the capability for the program.
  • Assist in creating and adopting engineering processes that ensure design intent is maintained.
  • Understand and work across both an Australian Technical Authority framework, as well as a UK equivalent. This will include any processes for issuing Engineering Delegations.
About You
  • Bachelor of Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Proven industry experience in defence programs and complex organisations.
  • Experience in a similar role developing and implementing Engineering Assurance programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Naval Materiel Assurance and the framework of an Authorized Materiel Seaworthiness Delivery Organisation (AMSDO).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate within a team environment.
Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
