Gippsland Southern Health Service (GSHS) is a major provider of healthcare in the South Gippsland Shire. GSHS offers a broad range of services that meet the needs of a diverse and sparsely populated area. With two main acute facilities based at Leongatha and Korumburra, GSHS offers a broad range of specialist, general, acute, subacute, ambulatory, residential aged care and community services.

About the Role
GSHS invites applications from suitably experienced Registered Nurses to join our team on the General Ward, Leongatha Hospital.  Applicants with experience in urgent care will be highly regarded. 

About You 
The successful applicant will possess the following: 

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. 
  • Demonstrated practice within ANCI competencies and Code of Ethics/Professional Conduct. 
  • Great interpersonal skills. 
  • Time management and decision making skills. 
  • Evidence of ongoing self-development. 

Staff have access to supportive staff mentoring, education and development programs.  Salary Packaging is available for all staff.  The successful applicant will be required to provide a current satisfactory police check.

  • Essential : Enrolled Nurse: Diploma of Nursing or equivalent, including minimum 4 routes medication, preferably 5 routes. OR Registered Nurse: Tertiary Qualifications as a Registered Nurse
  • Essential : Understanding of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards for Practice for the Registered Nurse.
