About the role

As Category Specialist you will be part of the Category team and responsible for playing a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of contracts and procurement processes.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Contribute to and assist in the development and implementation of category strategies, strategic procurement plans, procurement policies and procedures Proactively manage contract relationships with Council’s key stakeholders to explore, identify and understand customer requirements to improve the performance of Council’s contracts, and ensure that development and measuring cost containment initiatives/benefits realisation are incorporated into every Council contract Prepare technically and commercially accurate tender documents, solicit bids, and commercially evaluate responses, liaising with customers for technical/quality support

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

Possession of graduate or post-graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline OR be pursuing such qualifications OR substantial proven experience to carry out the range of duties required Expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, and contract management, within a governance framework Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership

About the benefits

This is a permanent full time role at level 7 with a salary commencing at $110,575 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
