Your opportunity:
Our Digital & Information group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager - Digital Applications & Services to join our newly established Digital Experience and Operations Team.
Digital & Information is responsible for digitally enabling Urban Utilities today and digitally transforming future capability to enable provision of digital services to our customers, community and people. The group is accountable to formulate and execute Urban Utilities’ digital & data strategy, deliver Urban Utilities digital portfolio and provide day-to-day operations of information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT), including security, infrastructure management, system administration, network operations, and support services.
Reporting to the General Manager Digital Experience & Operations, the Senior Manager Digital Applications & Services is accountable for the operation and performance of all digital applications and services within Urban Utilities information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and Internet of Things (IOT) environments, ensuring exceptional digital service experiences are delivered to Urban Utilities people, functions and customers.
Leading a diverse team of professional and operational staff, this role is responsible for the operations, maintenance, compliance to security, and patching of all active applications, middleware, tools and services, within Urban Utilities information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT) environments. In doing so you will ensure the security of our applications and data, ensure effective enterprise application integration, deliver an exceptional customer experience and minimize cost in the long run.
Success in this role will be measured by the how well data, security, operational, and customer interaction decisions are made to execute performance of digital applications, middleware, tools and services within Urban Utilities information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT) environments.
About you:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, with significant industry knowledge and experience.
IT Service Management (e.g., ITIL) or Azure certification is advantageous.
Significant demonstrated experience managing multiple digital applications and services, including cloud-based and outsourced services, using in-house and third-party resources.
Strong knowledge of digital technologies across ICT, OT, data, and IoT domains.
Proficiency in ITIL.
Extensive senior IT experience in a comparable organization, leading multiple applications and driving digital innovation and large-scale digitization.
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost reduction planning.
Proven experience running a similar multi-function unit in a large organisation, ideally with a customer centric model. This in particular applies to these domains:
Engaging with stakeholders to identify business requirements.
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and leading innovation in the technology space.
Leading, managing and directing a team of professionals in the design of end-to-end solutions in a complex environment.
Performance of ‘on call’ duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position. The days, times, duration and frequency of on call arrangements may be subject to change, including at short notice, as required by Urban Utilities’ operational needs as applying from time to time. At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond, including the ability to physically attend if required, to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner.
