Primary purpose of the role is to lead and direct the transformation of the Enterprise Project Management and Program for agile delivery. Creating delivering project/ program oversight, process, system and service transformation across the business. The role facilitates and leads project delivery.

The role:

  • Modernising the EPMO to transform from a traditional practice to a more agile approach.
  • Leads the PMO project/portfolio governance and reporting.
  • Leads the enterprise project reporting service in line with whole of organisation strategy and plans
  • Providing high level program advice for a range of new and emerging enterprise project issues, in particular those requiring coordination across the Division, and provides hands on program management of high profile cluster initiatives.
  • Implementing a new suite of reporting tools

Key Accountabilities

  • Build, and lead a high-performance Enterprise Project Management project delivery and organisational change management team of directors with a strong level of engagement, retention and cross discipline and business collaboration
  • Drive program and project management on priority areas within the organisation, providing hands on program management leadership of high profile cross-jurisdictional cluster programs
  • Direct and oversee the delivery of a project management function and facilitate project delivery to ensure projects and project outcomes are tracked, reported and evaluated. This includes the design and implementation of agile project management methodology, standards and tools to drive the successful delivery of project outcomes across the business
  • Foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with directors and senior stakeholders, assess cross-functional project team capability, provide coaching, training and support to enhance the delivery capability, and improve collaborative development and project results
  • Contribute to the achievement of business financial objectives for the development of projects including project cost plans, benefits value management, master planning/ programming, vendor management and risk management

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in the transformation of the EPMO in an enterprise complex environment.
  • Organisational change and business program governance, delivery and planning priorities across a large, complex organisation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at the c-suite level in an enterprise environment
  • 10+ years relevant work experience with three years of management experience running a EPMO and oversight of a staff of project managers.
  • Must have demonstrated expertise in managing multiple projects, prioritizing portfolios, monitoring and managing on-going status and reporting performance in a moderate scale organization.
  • Knowledge of full lifecycle project management from scope definition through implementation and ability to bring industry best practices.
  • Must have a proven track record of excellent leadership, interpersonal communication, decision making, financial and technical skills within a highly dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be an innovator of change and overcome roadblocks to meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
  • Technical and leadership skills to foster the team-work necessary to achieve corporate goals through the staff and to provide staff members with encouragement and opportunities to improve their skill-set
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to express ideas clearly to individuals and groups and conduct training sessions.
  • Ability to work to reach agreement through collaboration and consensus 
  • Strong ability to define problems and deal with the factors that contribute to or cause the problem including the confidence to communicate difficult and unpopular issues to senior management.
