About the role

We are now seeking to appoint passionate Assistant Nurses with aged care experience to work on a full time, part time and casual basis. Successful applicants must be available to work day and night shifts.

These positions are located at St Marys.

As an Assistant Nurse at SummitCare, you will be accountable to the Manager Care and Wellbeing and to the Registered Nurse for the resident care areas within the centre.

It is your responsibility to ensure the day-to-day individual care needs of the residents are met and maintained, under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse.

You will also be required to participate in continuous quality improvement activities and ongoing education programs to ensure that all aspects of resident care encompass the mission, vision and operating principles of the organisation.

To be a successful candidate you will possess appropriate qualifications and experience, have sound clinical knowledge, be a good communicator and have previous experience in the aged care sector.

Key requirements

Certificate III / IV in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent

Current Criminal Record Check

Proven experience working in Aged Care

Highly developed customer service and communication skills

Desirable Skills & Experience

A caring and empathetic manner

Demonstrated ability to achieve goals within set time frames

Demonstrated ability to be a team player and work with a diverse group of individuals

Capacity to have initiative and be innovative
