ANZ Product Stewardship Manager

This role is accountable to ensure compliance with local/international regulations and corporate policies for all SBUs (Architecture, Refinish, Industry, Aerospace, Packaging, Protective and Marine coating) in ANZ. Those regulation and policy include Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme, New Zealand Hazardous Substances and New Organisms, Globally Harmonised System (GHS), transportation of dangerous goods, and other product regulatory regulations (e.g. biocide registrations, food contact requirements, food additive regulations, etc.).
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following:
Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging operating environment and to engage internal stakeholders in implementing PS Management System.
Ability to adapt to changes and demonstrate flexibility to prioritize work on a daily basis.
Strong influencing skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner with site/business leadership team in developing and implementing PS Management System.
Lead the delivery of PS agenda including PS programs, workplans and key initiatives.
Work closely with business and being able to provide guidance and support.
Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement in PS performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the deployment of Product Stewardship Management System and its various elements across ANZ business / operational sites.
Work with SBUs to implement PLC include provide training to stakeholders, develop relevant process that supports PPG ANZ business/operation.
Meet or exceed PS goals established in PS Score Card, and Completion of actions in the AP PS Progress Tracker. KPI deliverables will include completion rates, regulatory compliance, lead time on open enquiries from internal/external stakeholders and safe and compliant delivery throughout supply chain.
Responsible for monitoring latest emerging issues related to product environmental protection and customer safe use, such as GHS developments, chemical inventory changes and other regulation (i.e., VOC) and work with stakeholder to manage the impact to PPG.
Prepare submissions/report required by government to meet product stewardship related regulation requirement.
Implement regulatory compliance management process, facilitate regularly Regulatory compliance review with stakeholders and follow gap closure. Work with business to ensure PS related regulatory activity are managed accordingly.
Participate in SBU sales, marketing, and technical groups meetings to understand SBU business strategy and its implication to PS strategy/plans of ANZ and maintain regular communications with related stakeholders.
Provide respond to PPG customers’ request related to Product Stewardship
Travel (as required) to manufacturing/commercial/customer locations in the ANZ region and/or outside of ANZ region as needed.
Manage Product Stewardship Specialist ANZ specialist (if applicable) and follow AP PS community common practice
Any other PS related tasks as the business needs
Requirement:
Candidate as Product Stewardship Manager ANZ :
BS in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or Chemistry related science
5-7 years work experience in chemical, industrial, medical devices or consumer goods as similar PS position or associated function like technical, R&D, Environment, Health and safety.
Strong influencing and effective communication skills to interact with senior management, internal stakeholders - SBU sales, marketing, and procurement, supply chain & technical groups - and regulatory agencies
Can travel to the various PPG sites and occasionally overseas.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, good project management skill.
