About the Opportunity
The Mechanical Team Lead is responsible for leadership in all production areas including but not limited to WHS&E, performance and quality standards in accordance with company policies and legislative requirements. This role will specifically have the responsibility to maintain a suitably skilled and competent trade team within the Facilities Maintenance Department, while delivering on both cost initiatives and schedule deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Ensure trade personnel within the work team have a comprehensive understanding of company processes and are trained and competent in all tasks.
- Ensure productivity, quality and efficiency within the work group.
- Comply with all WHS policies/procedures, company’s equal employment opportunity and diversity policies to align with our Pride values.
- Liaise with Facilities Maintenance Manager to provide direction to the trade team in completing all tasks.
- Key person responsible for coordinating and managing trade team to deliver on committed project/workflow schedules.
- Allocate and book labour to appropriate work packs eg; work orders and work tasks.
About you
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a mechanical trade.
- Certificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
- Working knowledge to a high level of competency in mechanical installation, testing and fault finding on industrial and commercial equipment.
- Experience within a heavy engineering/shipbuilding/ship repair industry.
- Read and understand technical drawings and work instructions.
- Good computer literacy to manage technical and administration tasks.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate, influence and train others.
- Ability to build and create strong working relationships with your team and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities.
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering stream (or modules progressing towards achieving such) - desirable.
- Cert 4 in Front Line Management - desirable.
- Cert 4 in Training and Assessment – desirable.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
