**About the Opportunity**

The Mechanical Team Lead is responsible for leadership in all production areas including but not limited to WHS&E, Performance and Quality standards in accordance with ASC policy and legislative requirements. As a leader you will be honest, accountable, use initiative and act with integrity at all times.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure trade personnel within the work team have a comprehensive understanding of company processes and are trained and competent in all tasks assigned.
- Ensure productivity, quality and efficiency within the work group.
- Comply with all WHS policies and procedures and ASC’s Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Policy as well as ASC PRIDE values.
- Coordinate and manage trade team to deliver on SPOW commitment i.a.w project schedules.
- Liaise with boat management team to provide direction to trade team complete all tasks i.a.w priority of work.
- Identify and implement innovative methods to deliver safer, higher quality and more efficient outcomes.
- Manage time allocation overtime and shift requirements.

**About you**

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Engineering Mechanical Trade - Cert 3.
- Working knowledge to a high level of competency in mechanical installation, machining, refurbishment, testing and STW of Submarine equipment.
- Commitment to work within WHS&E regulations.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a mechanical trade.
- Experience within a heavy engineering/shipbuilding/ship repair industry.
- Good computer literacy to manage Technical & Administration tasks.
- Manage personnel to achieve common goals.
- Read and understand technical drawings and work instructions.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate, influence and train others.

**DESIRABALE QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Stream (or modules progressing towards achieving such).
- Cert 4 Front Line Management.
- Cert 4 Training and Assessment.

**Eligibility**

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
