Job Description

Being 2IC to the Mogas Head of Finance the senior accountant will be a key member of a highly dynamic & vibrant finance and administration team.

This role will be responsible for most material financial statement areas of the business as well as drive the month end close process. These elements include but are not limited to PP& E, Inventories and Other Balance Sheet Reconciliations as well as P & L review.

The Senior Accountant will also play an active role in assisting Head of Finance to manage the finance team & key projects. The role will have formal direct reports within the finance team as well as direct opportunity to work together with key stakeholders such as heads of departments, group treasury and tax and auditors.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee the month end close process.
  • Responsible for maintaining and overseeing key FSA including P, P & E, Inventories & Others
  • Process journals and approve month end journals and accruals for other finance members.
  • Review other finance team members working papers & reconciliations.
  • Oversee the expense and revenue allocations including reviewing P & L’s and GL coding supplier invoices for AP.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and ongoing variance analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of auditors’ files and liaise with auditors as required.
  • Prepare monthly BAS & other returns.
  • Actively participate in the Treasury process including generating cash flow forecasts & drawing down on equipment lease facilities when required.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as and when required by the Head of Finance.

Qualifications

You will be part way through the CA / CPA program or fully qualified with experience in a similar industry or professional services role for a minimum of 4 years.

Having demonstrated the ability of being a part of a high-performance & fast paced team with team management experience will be highly regarded. You will have a proven track record of being self-motivated, delivering high quality financial accounting work & display a strong willingness for career growth. In addition, you will be flexible in your approach and able to adapt to suit different needs or situations with the utmost attention to detail.
