About the Role:

As the Plant Manager for the Beverage Can Division at our Clayton site, you will oversee all aspects of plant operations including production, safety, quality, and financial performance. Leading a team of managers and operators, you’ll ensure production schedules are met, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and champion operational excellence. You’ll also manage key relationships with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure exceptional service and quality standards.

Role Details:

As Plant Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the success of the Clayton Beverage Can Plant. Key responsibilities include:

Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Visy’s safety systems and act as a safety champion, leading risk management and implementing safe work practices. Operational Leadership: Drive the day-to-day operations to meet production goals, maximize equipment uptime, and optimize resource use. Customer Focus & Quality: Lead a quality-focused culture ensuring all products meet customer expectations and address any quality concerns proactively. Financial Management: Manage the plant’s budget, including forecasting and capital project oversight to achieve cost efficiency and operational targets. Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing team, promoting continuous learning, succession planning, and operational leadership.

What You Will Bring:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: Proven leadership in high-volume manufacturing, with experience in production systems, operational efficiency, and quality management. Financial Acumen: Experience in managing budgets, production forecasting, and capital projects. Safety Focus: Demonstrated experience in driving safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with OHS&E standards. Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Materials Science, Business, or Finance (MBA or advanced qualifications preferred). Continuous Improvement: Experience with lean manufacturing and a strong commitment to operational excellence.
