Our Opportunity:
 

 Join our dynamic team as an Emergency Response Team Supervisor based in Garden Island. Reporting to the ERT Manager, you will assist in managing naval and commercial projects, ensuring effective control of confined spaces and emergency response activities on vessels and within the DORSC footprint.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate all activities in tanks, pits, voids, and confined spaces. Oversee the Confined Space Rescue/First Response team across all vessels. Formulate work schedules and rosters for the Thales Emergency Response Team. Report progress to Managers/Project Managers. Ensure manpower, equipment, and resources meet operational requirements. Process purchase orders, TCPs, and project reports for confined space activities. Authorise sub-contractors' documentation. Conduct daily checks of rescue equipment and ensure availability. Arrange and conduct training for Emergency Response Teams. Attend daily production meetings, reporting high-risk activities. Schedule Naval Hull Surveyors for confined space inspections. Develop rescue plans for confined space activities. Coordinate joint training exercises with NSW emergency services. Conduct ship safety rounds and safety inspections/audits. Respond to emergencies as First Response Team Leader. Ensure best safety practices and high accident prevention standards. Investigate serious injuries, accidents, or dangerous occurrences promptly.
 

How about you?

Previous supervisory experience or similar role. Completed or willing to obtain a Team Leadership Certificate. Knowledge of fire suppression and extinguisher usage. Trainer and assessor qualifications or willingness to obtain. Proficient in Microsoft 365, Adobe, Excel, and PowerPoint. Confined space rescue ticketed Vertical Rescue Ticketed First Aid Gas test atmosphere qualification Enter and work in a confined space qualification Working Safely at heights qualification
