Your opportunity
Queensland Rail is seeking a highly experienced Security Monitoring Officer to join the Security Operations team in our Rail Management Centre at Bowen Hills on a permanent full time basis. In this role you will monitor multiple CCTV and other security systems at stations, car parks, on board trains and other Queensland Rail locations. You will be responsible for proactively assessing suspicious events and behaviour across our network and providing quick and accurate incident response coordination. As our RMC is a 24/7 operation you will be required to work a 24/7 rotating roster.
Overview of responsibilities
- Monitoring the CCTV, emergency phones, duress systems and other security equipment on Queensland Rail property.
- Facilitate the appropriate incident response service to staff and the public.
- Proactively monitor the electronic security systems, including CCTV on an intelligence driven basis.
- Ensure all incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor and report on all faults with CCTV and other electronic equipment to coordinate efficient and timely fault repairs.
We are looking for someone with:
- Current Queensland Security Provider Licence (monitoring category) or the ability to obtain upon commencement.
- Strong demonstrated experience in monitoring CCTV in a control room environment.
- Experience in managing security incidents according to company procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and focused when working under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Good written communication skills, including report writing skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure
Important information
- You will need the flexibility to commit to a 24/7 rotating shift roster which will include early starts, late finishes, weekends and public holidays. Annual base salary starts at $82,000 with possibility to earn more with penalties and allowances.
- As part of this role you will be monitoring live CCTV systems and there is the potential of viewing and responding to traumatic incidents.
- This is not a patrolling position. It is an incident management supervisory position based within our Rail Management Centre. To be considered for this opportunity you must be able to demonstrate solid experience in CCTV monitoring or in a similar operational environment.
