Due to continued expansion and growth in our Property Underwriting Team, we currently have an exciting and challenging role available for an Assistant Underwriter located in our office in Sydney CBD.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as an Assistant Underwriter within The Barn’s Property team, you will be directly responsible for assisting in the seamless administration of the various aspects of The Barn’s day-to-day underwriting operations.

You will be responsible for supporting the Director of Property and Underwriting Team as required in the various aspects of our Underwriting Operations.

You will be responsible for working actively and collaboratively with brokers via telephone, email and in person to achieve great outcomes for all parties involved in every transaction with our business. 

Primary duties will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Assisting the Product Director and Underwriting team with daily running of The Barn’s Property underwriting division. 
  • First point of telephone contact for the Property team
  • Assisting with the management of daily Underwriting enquiries
  • Processing insurance premium closings, Policy endorsements etc.
  • Quoting of new business.
  • Quoting of renewals
  • Referrals to Underwriters (Internal & External) including Lead underwriter at Lloyd's Syndicates
  • Preparing Policy Documentation
  • Ongoing Policy Management throughout the policy cycle
  • Referrals to Underwriters (Internal & External) including Lead underwriter at Lloyd's Syndicates 
  • Issuing annual renewal notices
  • Property survey requests and risk improvement tracking
  • Issuing annual renewal notices
  • Managing customer records/database
  • Assisting with credit control when required
  • Bordereaux production input when required
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to solve queries
  • Assisting to develop our IT systems and internal processes. This means, contributing to how we continually improve our end-to-end systems and processes to drive excellent operational efficiencies.
