Mining EngineerHybrid

In this role you’ll work with the Mine Engineering & Geology team as a Mining Engineer, based in the Brisbane or Perth office. 

Utilise your proven open pit and/or underground mining experience as you collaborate with your industry leading teammates and the wider Mine Advisory business. This role will offer you a variety of experience and exposure to iconic projects which will set you up for success.

What you’ll do: 

• Undertake mine optimisation, mine design, mine scheduling, mining equipment selection and mining operating and capital cost estimates for open pit and/or underground mines. 
• Carry out technical work in support of due diligence reviews supporting mergers, acquisitions under the supervision of the senior mining engineers. 
• Assist in the preparation of tenders, proposals and reports for clients. 
• Liaise with mining engineers, resource geologists, and specialists from other disciplines and offices within WSP. 
• Undertake travel both domestically and internationally as required to support project work. 
• Provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/ eliminating high priority safety hazards. 

About you: 

• Up to 10 years of relevant experience. 
• Strong proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac) and other relevant mining software. 
• Experience across open pit and/or underground projects, preferably within consultancy. 
• Excellent communication skills, strong report writing skills and solid analytical and problem-solving ability.
