IT Change & Release Coordinator is responsible for engaging with the business to understand present and future demands, develop and construct the digital futures, deliver projects, and provide development, support, and ongoing operations to all critical business systems to enable learning, research, and professional outcomes.

As the person responsible for overseeing and managing the entire change management process within the organisation, ensuring that all changes to information technology services and infrastructure are planned, assessed, approved, and implemented in a controlled and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities: 

Change and Release Management and implementation. Change and Release Planning and Communication. Risk Assessment and Mitigation. Post-Implementation Review. Maintain the IT Change Calendar that comprises of forward schedule of all changes, whether initiated by the business or the product vendor. Partner with stakeholders to ensure changes are planned, prioritised, authorised, implemented, tested, documented and communicated in a controlled manner. Implement and manage release processes through development, test, and production environments. Ensure governance of the change and release management lifecycle, including scheduling and coordination. Providing analysis & input to appropriate change management reports Coordinating and attending the Change Advisory Board (CAB) including agenda and minutes. Ensuring all approvals are received for Changes. Maintaining Change Management Documentation. Awareness of and Adherence to Change Management processes. Drive end to end delivery & release planning and manage work through a delivery lifecycle to realise strategic objectives and customer outcomes whilst establishing, and communicating, the release plan to stakeholders. Experience on continuous improvement in the change delivery cycle. Adapt to evolving workplace demands by engaging in other tasks and functions as required for the seamless operation of the organisation. Embrace additional assignments and support various departmental needs as they arise, showcasing adaptability and a commitment to the organisation's success.

Specialist knowledge and skills required:

Analytical and investigative skills in policy formation. Good understanding of organisational values and the legal and political context of Local Government. Good knowledge and experience of ITIL and ITSM processes, including driving service initiatives, always in search of solutions to new problems and opportunities. Demonstrated understanding of corporate procurement and tendering processes related to IT systems. PMP or equivalent certification highly desirable.
