Our Stakeholder and Government Relations team has a new opportunity for a Communications and Corporate Affairs Lead. We’re seeking an outstanding stakeholder manager with strong experience in corporate communications, who can elevate and promote Huon’s corporate brand and operational objectives to key audiences.
In this full-time position, you will craft strategic communications to shape Huon’s corporate reputation and implement initiatives to foster positive engagement with stakeholders.
A day in the life
As the Communications and Corporate Affairs Lead, you will embody Huon’s values and actively connect with key stakeholders, using contemporary communications methods and innovative engagement practices. A day in the life may look like:
- Developing, evaluating, and executing communication strategies to target key stakeholders, aligned with our organisational goals.
- Utilising internal channels to enhance staff engagement and providing strategic advice and support to different departments as needed.
- Proactively identifying emerging stakeholder and public relations challenges and crafting responses.
- Establishing and maintaining credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including media, government and community representatives, to foster positive engagement.
- Collaborating with leaders and stakeholders to plan activities, projects, and events that meet identified objectives and strengthen rapport with key audiences.
- Create compelling content across multiple channels and platforms, to enhance Huon’s corporate reputation and raise awareness of operational objectives.
What we’re looking for
An enthusiastic, innovative team player who brings:
- Experience managing diverse stakeholders and in corporate communications; ideally alongside a background in communications, public relations and/or journalism.
- A sound understanding of contemporary engagement practices and strategic communications, particularly related to our industry and its socio-political dynamics, or other regulated sectors.
- A positive outlook with the ability to influence and cultivate strong relationships.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.
- Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities and projects.
- A valid driver’s licence and the willingness to travel intrastate as needed, along with flexibility to work outside standard office hours.
