As a Mobile Engineer at Entain, you'll have a pivotal role in defining the technical direction of the new Ladbrokes and Neds apps. Your focus will be on ensuring that the apps meet the highest technical standards and effectively cater to our customer's needs.

In this position, you'll actively contribute to the development of mobile applications by working on core functionality and seamlessly transitioning from react-native to native. Your expertise will be invaluable in writing efficient and maintainable code as we enhance the apps' performance and improve the user experience.

Where and how you can work
This position can be based in various locations including Brisbane, Australia (HQ), Darwin, Sydney, and Melbourne, or can be remote within Australia. Your day-to-day.

  • Advocate for the mobile platform and collaborate with engineering and design teams to establish best practices and leverage native frameworks effectively.
  • Prioritize scalable feature development, covering the entire development process from measurement and design to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, including setting up code standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices for mobile development.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement optimization strategies to ensure exceptional performance and smooth operation of mobile applications.
  • Uphold code quality standards and practices to maintain high-quality code throughout the development process.

You're a match if you have….

  • Demonstrated commercial software development experience, specifically in designing, building, and operating large-scale mobile platforms, as this position requires expertise in handling significant scale and complexity projects.
  • Commercial experience in iOS, SwiftUI, and/or Android, Jetpack Compose. We value well-documented, performant, tested, and easily maintainable code that adheres to best practices.
  • Proven track record of providing constructive feedback during code reviews.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential, showcasing the ability to identify and resolve issues swiftly.
  • You excel in critical and creative thinking, enabling you to come up with innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and a willingness to tackle challenges head-on, you are not afraid to dive into complex problems.
  • Comfortable effectively communicating through various online channels such as chat, video calls, and other collaboration tools.
