About The Role:

Are you ready to elevate your career to new heights? Compare the Market is seeking a dynamic Head of Procurement to join our passionate team. In this role, you'll work directly with our Chief Operating Officer, negotiating commercial outcomes and agreements that drive business growth. This exciting opportunity will see you engaging with a variety of stakeholders across the business, including financial service providers, technology suppliers, and general service and partnership agreements.

We’re looking for someone with a strong commercial mindset to contribute to and further develop our procurement function and overall business operations. You will have the chance to provide expertise across our business, shaping practices and procedures that contribute to long-term success. Your responsibilities will include strategic planning (developing and enhancing our procurement processes), operations (managing contract negotiations and overseeing procurement activities), and stakeholder management (building and maintaining relationships with key partners).

What You’ll Do:

• Negotiate with new and existing suppliers to achieve best commercial terms and pricing, including liaising with and instructing our in-house legal team.
• Advising on commercial strategy and contributing to the strategic direction of our business.
• Development of procurement and vendor governance policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and standardised approach to procurement activities.
• Provide and manage the tools, metrics and systems for procurement and vendor governance.
• Provide advice and support to key stakeholders on all aspects of vendor management and performance to encourage innovative practices and support the delivery of business outcomes.
• Actively drive cost reductions and increase value for money while championing opportunities for improvement.
• Annual review of all business spends and suppliers to drive efficiencies and cost improvements.
• Identify commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on organisational objectives while encouraging opportunity and innovation; and
• Undertake end-to-end procurement activities, procurement planning and documentation, supplier evaluation and negotiation, and establishing beneficial supplier agreements.

What You’ll Bring:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Business or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in procurement, vendor governance, strategic sourcing, or a related field.
• Experience in risk control management.
• Highly motivated with a passion for negotiation and achieving results.
• Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional influencing and communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in the Financial Services or General Insurance industries is desirable but not essential.
